The climate in Cordes sur Ciel

Cordes sur Ciel enjoys an enviable climate with short mild winters and warm, sun-filled summers. In the hottest months the average daytime temperature rises to around 30°C and even in the spring and autumn you can expect temperatures between 20-25°C. Mid-winter daytime temperatures average 14-15°C although it can be very cold at night. Winter visitors will find that hotels and guest houses, if open, have roaring log fires and gîtes have central heating, often with fireplaces or woodburning stoves as a cosy addition.

Rainfall is generally half of that experienced in the UK, with the exception of the late spring: May is actually the wettest month of the year in Cordes sur Ciel, with an average of 73mm. Winter rain falls mainly as fine drizzle although in cold snaps it will turn to snow which may settle for a day or two. From time to time there are storms and, whilst they can be dramatic, they tend to be of short duration.

Overall, the climate is very similar to that of the Mediterranean with well over 2000 hours of sunshine annually.
